Nokia 5610 XpressMusic Review
 |
Nokia 5610 is part of the XpressMusic range , and like its
name ,it was designed as a music handset.
The phone is a slider ,to be more specific, it is a copy of
the Nokia 6500 Slide.If you take a closer look ,you'll notice that
the two handsets have a similar design and similar controls.
The handset comes in a choice of two colors - blue and read,
which are standard colors of the XpressMusic range.
Both colors look pretty good on the phone.Nokia 5160 has the
dimensions of 98.5x48.5x17mm and weights 111 grams.

The sales package contains : The handset , 900 mAh Battery (BP-5M)
, Charger , Wired stereo-headset with remote control , User Guide,USB
Cable , 512 Mb microSD memory card.
On the top end we can see a 2.5 mm audio jack,the charger slot, a
microUSB slot and a small button for realeasing the battery cover.The
right side houses the camera button and the volume rocker.On the backside
you'll find the 3.2 Megapixel camera with auto-focus and Carl Zeiss lens.
Nokia has fitted to the 5610 XpressMusic an audio chip that should
, according to the manufacturer deliver one of the best sonic experience
among the S40 platform.Unlike the other phones in the XpressMusic range
, the Nokia 5610 lacks the 3.5 mm audio jack , and this is a drawback
because you can't use your favorite headphones when listening to music.Nokia
claims that this phone will deliver up to 22 hours of music playback.
Nokia 5610 has a QVGA display with TFT technology , that can display
up to 16 million colors. with a resolution of 240x320 pixels (diagonal
of 2,2 inches, 36x48 mm). The phone has an ambient light sensor that adjusts
the backlighting level of the display and the keypad.The display can show
up to 8 text and 3 service lines.
Nokia 5610 has a 900 mAh Li-Ion battery , and the producer claims
it can deliver up to 320 hours of standby and up to 6 hours of talk time.Nokia
claims the 5610 can play music for 22 hours straight, but in reality it
offers around 20.5 hours.It takes the phone around two hours to charge
completely.Nokia 5610 has EDR-enabled Bluetooth 2.0 with all importat
profiles being supported.
The phone has 28 Mb of internal memory but the package comes with
a memory card of 512 Mb or 1 Gb , and the handset can support memory cards
up to 4 Gb.Like Nokia 6500 Classic , the 5610 has a microUSB slot on the
top,and with it's help you can connect the handset to you Pc.The speed
is around 500-600 Kb/s. The SAR value for the Nokia 5610 is 1.14 W/kg.
The keypad is made out of plastic but it feels really great and delivers
a good feedback and it's easy to use.The keys are lit in white and the
level of backlighting is adjusted by an ambient sensor.
The music player,is pretty much the same as any other S40 player,you
have the possibility to change its looks with the help of themes.The sound
quality is really good , and it doesn't matter if you're listening to
music in the headphones or the phones speaker, the sound quality will
be great either way.Being a music phone one might expect a dedicated music
button , but in this case , Nokia forgot to equip the phone with such
a thing. Nokia 5610 XpressMusic can play music for around 20 hours and
this is a really good result.
The phone also has RDS FM radio , and like when you're listening to music
from the phones memory the sound quality is really good.Beside FM Radio
you will also get Visual Radio but it usually works only in a 3G network.

The menu and applications are almost the same as any other S40 phone
, and the phone comes with a lot of preinstalled applications like : Converter,
Nokia Sensor, World Time, Opera Mini, Download catalogue, Yahoo! Go, Search..etc.As
for games the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic comes with four games : City Bloxx,
Music Guess, Rally 3D, Snake III.
Camera
The camera in Nokia 5610 XpressMusic is the same as the one in Nokia
6500 Slide thought this one has the "Carl Zeiss" brand on it.The
pictures have a good quality but it's still a little behind Sony Ericsson
, the resolutions available are :
· 1536x2048;
· 1200x1600;
· 960x1280;
· 480x640;
· 240x320;
· 120x160.
The phone can record video in 3GP format and the available resolutions
are : 128x96 , 176x144 , 352x288 and 640 x 480 pixels.The length of the
videos is not limited and it depends on the available memory.The clips
look pretty decent when viewed on a PC.

Conclusions
Nokia 5610 XpressMusic will have a retail price of around 300 Euro,and
at this price , the phone has a really good quality to price ratio.Without
any direct rivals the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic , has much of the market
to its self , so the sales will probably be quite high.
All in all we think that if you're looking for a music orientated
handset the Nokia 5610 could be the phone you're looking for.
